Award-winning English rockers, Arctic Monkeys come to the Golden 1 Center on Wednesday, September 27th 2023 to promote their latest music, the band's brand-new and seventh studio album, The Car. Grab some tickets and get ready for the most exciting Fall Tour to be announced so far, Arctic Monkeys also bring along special guests, Fontaines D.C. as opening band. After breaking America in 2013 this will only be the third time this Brit band have appeared on these shores for a proper headline tour, so get ready with your warm beer and profanities, just don’t mess around with any slurs against the late old lady.
The Arctic Monkeys first gained fame this side of the pond with their fifth album, AM, in 2013, topping four Billboard charts and gaining Platinum certification, this album was supported by the global smash hit single, "Do I Wanna Know?", and was their third album in a row to win both Best British Group and British Album of the Year at the Britt Awards.
Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, from 2018 is the band's previous and sixth album, it marked a major departure from the band's previous guitar-heavy work, and is instead very piano-oriented. Nominated for the 2018 Mercury Prize and the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album, it was also named the Best Album of 2018 by Q magazine, with the single "Four Out of Five" being nominated for Best Rock Performance. The album is the band's sixth consecutive number 1 debut on the UK Albums chart, and the band's third top 10 album in the US, as well as topping the charts in Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Greece, Portugal, Scotland and Switzerland.
In August 2022 the Arctic Monkeys debuted their new song, "I Ain't Quite Where I Think I Am", at the Zurich Openair festival. The next day they announced their seventh studio album, The Car, to be released on October 21st 2022, and they have since released an accompanying single, "There'd Better Be a Mirrorball".
